MM650 Massage Chair Design Overview
Real Relax is a newer brand on the scene, but they’re quickly gaining traction with their line of affordable massage chairs.
What sets them apart isn’t just the price but also the fact that they are always designing their chairs to include the latest cutting-edge massage technology, so no one misses out on a high-quality experience.
In this review, we’re focusing on their MM650 Massage Chair, which is a perfect example of luxury for less.
Let’s start with the aesthetics. The overall look and feel of this chair scream modern elegance. It doesn’t look like your everyday recliner; instead, it embraces the futuristic rounded shape of high-end models.
A high-quality synthetic leather finish is smooth to the touch and easy to clean with a damp cloth. A quilted pattern gives the cushioning that cozy feel, like sitting at grandma’s wrapped up in a wool blankie.
In short, we like the look of this chair, and it will enhance the contemporary grandeur of any interior home design. Now the BIG question is, do you have enough room? Because this is a BIG chair.
The Real Relax MM650 dimensions are 51 x 31 x 45 inches, and it weighs 210 pounds. It might be difficult to fit this into a small apartment. Fortunately, Real Relax thought of everything.
Space Saving Technology allows the user to fully recline the MM650 with only 3.9” clearance between the backrest and the wall. That makes it easy to use without knocking any of your prized possessions to the ground.
As well, the MM650 arrives fully assembled, which gives it major brownie points for being user-friendly.
Before we move on to the features, we want to praise the design team for making the MM650 open to a weight limit of 400 pounds.
That’s incredibly rare to see on the market, as the average recliner holds up to 265 pounds, with above-average being 300 pounds.
The fact that the MM650 accommodates larger body types makes it possible for more people to get the pain relief they need right at home.
Favor-MM650 Massage Chair Features
The MM650 Massage Chair’s features can best be described as standard. There’s nothing that wow’s us or makes it much different from other low-range recliners.
Still, the technology is top-notch, and the feature set is enough to satisfy your relaxation needs. For the low price, it’s hard to argue with what it can do.
If you’re looking for fancy features or more variety, you’re going to have to pay for it with a mid to high-end model.
S+L Track/ 3D Roller System
In our opinion, what makes the MM650 a reliable recliner is the superior S+L hybrid track and 3D rollers. With this type of setup, you’re getting the best deep tissue massage on the market.
An S+L track combines two tracks into one for a full body deep tissue massage that covers the entire back and the glutes and thighs.
The S-track follows the natural curve of the spine from the base of the neck to the lumbar region. The L-track dips beneath the seat, making this one of the longest tracks.
Pair that with 3D rollers, and you’ve got a gift that keeps giving. These rollers not only move up and down along the track, but they can move away from the track.
The user can adjust the width of the rollers to finetune the massage, and the robotic “hands” mimic the feel of masseuse movements for the most realistic experience possible.
Auto Body Scan
Before a massage session begins, the MM650 will do an automatic full-body scan to locate the user’s main pressure points. Then the rollers align with these points to improve the accuracy of the massage.
And that’s the body scan in a nutshell. Note that this isn’t groundbreaking technology, as the majority of massage chairs on the market offer this.
Also, know that it may not be 100% accurate all of the time. Even after the scan has finished, you might need to do some manual tweaking to get the rollers in place.
Zero Gravity Seating
Zero Gravity Seating is a popular concept inspired by NASA and the health benefits derived from being weightless.
When reclined at a certain angle with the legs elevated above the heart, the pressure of gravity is lifted from the body, releasing the tension and strain put on the spine and joints.
You feel weightless, and when combined with the deep tissue rollers and heating, pain dissolves, blood circulation improves, and you feel utterly relaxed.
This is an excellent therapeutic feature for people who suffer from chronic back pain. Unfortunately, the MM650 only has one Zero-G position instead of 2-3 like other chairs, but for the price, we’ll take it.
Heat is another indulgent feature that gives users with back woes a way to melt away pain and loosen tense muscles.
The heating pads are located in the lower back, so although limited, we aren’t surprised given the price. It would’ve been nice to see heat in the footwells, at least to boost the therapeutic value.
You won’t find a bounty of sparkly accessories with the MM650, not as you’d see with high-range models. But you do get the essentials, so you’re not missing out here.
There is a built-in pocket to hold the remote, along with Bluetooth speakers to listen to your favorite jams and drone out the stress.
The remote is a standard PDA remote controller, which some reviews have mentioned is confusing to use, but you’ll eventually get over the learning curve.
Real Relax MM650 Massage Programs
To be honest, we weren’t blown away by the massage variety of the MM650, but I guess you get what you pay for.
It comes with six auto programs to give you that one-touch instant gratification. The six auto programs include:
- Thai yoga
Each auto program is tailored to deliver a uniquely relaxing experience for any situation, combining various speeds, intensities, and techniques.
The roller techniques consist of Knead, Pinch Trembling, Knead Pat, Walking Finger, Rolling to Push, and Knock Beat.
You can also use these techniques manually, choosing between 3 levels of intensity, speed, and airbag pressure to personalize your preferences.
We find the options to be lacking only because we’ve seen other chairs around the same price that offer more auto programs and customization options.
Some reviews have also mentioned that the MM650’s intensity isn’t strong enough, noting that the rollers can be loud. That can definitely deduct from the experience.
Here are the MM650’s most notable massage programs:
The Favor-MM650 does offer a full-body air compression massage, which is great to see with a low-range chair.
The airbags are located at the legs, shoulders, and arms, with 3 different intensities to choose from. When inflated, they help relax the body and ease soreness.
Mechanical foot rollers hit the acupressure points under the soles of the feet while airbags apply compression to the feet and calves.
This is a basic footwell setup, but you know what would have made it even better? Heating in the footwells!
Thai Yoga Stretch
Whenever a massage chair has a yoga stretch program, we get excited, mainly because it feels amazing on the muscles and helps lower stress.
The robotic rollers and airbags work together to hold and pull the muscles simultaneously, and you can adjust the intensity as needed.
Do be aware that some MM650 reviews have mentioned that the stretch feels too light, but this is preferential.
MM650 Massage Chair Pros vs. Cons
- Zero Gravity Seating
- S+L track & 3D rollers
- Accommodates larger body types
- Arrives fully assembled
- Thai Yoga Stretch
- Not much variety
- Massage may not feel intense enough for some
- No heat in the footwells
- Loud operation
The Real Relax brand manufactures the Favor-MM650 as an affordable, advanced ergonomic recliner.
The real question here is whether or not it can perform.
We think it has what it takes to give hobbyists and casual users a sublime experience at home. The feature set is limited, and while you do get quality techs like the S+L track and 3D rollers, there just isn’t enough variety to give those in pain the therapeutic touch they need.
Six auto programs aren’t much compared to other chairs we’ve seen with over 10 programs on deck.
The manual offerings are also slim, especially since you don’t have much customization or the ability to focus on a specific body area.
Still, if you want to dip your toes into the world of massage technology, the MM650 is a good starting point. Just don’t expect it to fix all of your problems.
We recommend the MM650 for…
- Hobbyists and casual users who want a deal on a massage chair
- Highly stressed or tired individuals who want to relax
- Larger body types

Real Relax MM650 Review Conclusion
The MM650 is a standard massage chair with a limited feature set that doesn’t cater to fancy. It keeps things predictable with the same design layout as most low-range recliners on the market, making it suitable for hobbyists and casual users.
To conclude this Real Relax MM650 review, its one stand-out feature is that it can accommodate a max weight of 400 pounds. This is very rarely seen on the market, making this recliner a winning choice for larger people who want to relax in comfort.
