Do you want to experience a high-quality massage at home without paying a hefty price? We all do- and fortunately, with a bit of research, you can find an ergonomic recliner that has the latest cutting-edge features for less than the cost of a luxury model.

Today, we look at a mid-range model in our Osaki OS-Pro Admiral massage chair review. It offers phenomenal therapeutic value and relaxation. Let’s get started!

Osaki OS Pro Admiral Design Overview

The Pro Admiral massage chair was released in 2019 by Osaki, a company known for producing luxury recliners with functional designs.

Granted, it is moderately priced, so you won’t be oohing and aahing at fancy accessories like built-in essential oil diffusers.

Osaki Pro Admiral Massage Chair Dimensions

Instead, the Admiral aims to please, and you can count on just the right amount of therapeutic features to help cut down on those expensive chiropractor visits.

To get a better idea of the design, it looks high-end with its clean-cut lines and faux leather finish. The chair’s dimensions are 64.2 x 30.7 x 50 inches, and it weighs 284 pounds.

As you can tell, this is a beast of a chair. You might have a nice corner in your man/woman cave picked out for it already- but please measure the space. We’d say here in our Osaki OS-Pro Admiral massage chair review that the model may be too big for small apartments.

The company did consider its size, though, by incorporating Space Saving Technology in the design- and they get a gold star for their effort.

When fully reclined, the chair seamlessly slides forward, leaving a 2” clearance between the backrest and the wall.

For comparison, the best chairs on the market offer less than 5” of clearance, so this is rare, and well- it’s as good as it gets.

One downside regarding the design is that the Admiral wasn’t meant to accommodate larger body types. Its max weight capacity is only 220 pounds. That’s much less than the average, which is around 260 pounds.

We will say that they did a nice job of accommodating taller people. The ottoman has special technology to scan the user’s legs and automatically adjust the length according to their height. It can extend up to 7.1” to fit any height.

Many low to mid-range chairs feature an ottoman with a springboard that requires the user to push it out manually and apply pressure to hold it in place. It’s an outdated design that we’re pleased to see that the Admiral didn’t incorporate.

Osaki OS-Pro Admiral Features

Next up, we’re looking at what this baby can do! Overall, you’ll find the number of features offered to be standard, but there are a few luxurious treats that up the Osaki OS Pro Admiral massage chair’s therapeutic game. Let’s get to it!

Admiral Massage Chair L-Track

L-Track + 3D Roller System

You can rest assured that you’re getting the creme de la creme of massages with the Osaki Admiral just by looking at the massage track and roller technology.

They implemented an extensive L-track design, which is industry standard. This track starts at the base of the neck, follows the entire length of the spine, and then reaches underneath the seat to cover the glutes and thighs.

This is better than an S-track, which only covers the back. We will say it isn’t as high-end as the S+L Hybrid track, though, which combines the two and might render a more thorough massage.

Still, you’re getting excellent technology for the price, and the addition of 3D rollers can’t be beaten. These rollers move up and down along the track and move in and out away from the track.

This is important because it feels like a real deep tissue massage. The rollers mimic human hands, kneading into the muscles firmly, depending on the intensity. There are 5 intensity levels to choose from.

Overall, we are happy with the therapeutic value offered by the lengthy track and the deep kneading precision of the 3D rollers. This is an excellent setup for someone with chronic back pain.

Osaki OS-Pro Admiral Massage Chair Auto Body Scan

Auto Body Scan

The body scan is a nifty feature that automatically scans your body and adjusts the rollers to match your measurements.

This not only improves the accuracy of the rollers on your main pressure points, but it ensures every area of your body is massaged.

After the scan and adjustment are complete, you can manually tweak the rollers to get it just right.

Osaki Pro Admiral Zero Gravity Seating

Zero Gravity Seating

Ask any hobbyist, and they’ll say that Zero Gravity Seating is a “must-have” feature in a quality massage chair. But what is it?

This is a special recline angle that positions the chair to slightly elevate your legs above the heart. Inspired by NASA, it induces a weightless sensation that removes tension and pressure from the joints.

It is touted for health benefits, such as increasing blood circulation, relieving back pain, and lowering anxiety.

Now bear in mind that it’s not uncommon to see Zero-G seating on the market. What you want to look for is how many positions are offered.

Low to mid-range chairs usually offer only one position, while high-range models have 2-3. But honestly, we’ve seen plenty of mid-range (and even low-range) chairs that offer at least two positions.

Surprisingly, the Osaki Admiral massage chair only has one Zero-G position.

Multiple positions give the user more flexibility to fine-tune their massage and boost therapeutic value. We feel that as a mid-range chair, the Admiral could have done better here.

Osaki Admiral Massage Chair Heating

Heat

What the Admiral lacks in the Zero-G department it makes up for with dual heating. This feature takes massages to the next level, offering supreme therapeutic benefits when combined with the prowess of 3D rollers and a masterful recline.

Typically you’ll see heat in the lumbar region on many chairs, and while this is ideal for people who suffer from chronic back pain, it’s rather limiting.

To get the most therapeutic value and bang for your buck-look for a recliner that has heating in the lumbar region and the footwells. It’s a luxury detail that adds incredible value.

We were delighted to see that the Admiral has heat in both the lumbar and footwells, which is one of the reasons why this is a great chair for treating pain.

Osaki Pro Admiral Massage Chair Accessories

Osaki Pro Admiral Electric Massage Chair Accessories

As we mentioned, you won’t find fancy luxury accessories with the Admiral, but you do get the ones that matter.

It comes with Bluetooth speakers and an Enhanced Sounds function that plays soothing sounds while you enjoy your massage.

There’s also a USB connector so you can charge up your smartphone or tablet while sinking into a world of tranquility.

Use the LCD remote to select your massage and browse the customization options. The screen is clear and easy to navigate, and Osaki Pro Admiral reviews have mentioned that this makes it more user-friendly than complex feature-laden recliners.

Osaki Pro Admiral Massage Programs

Now that we’ve covered the features, it’s time to look at how well the Admiral can perform. And right off the bat, we have to say that the massage selection has a lot of attractive choices.

Osaki Pro Admiral 2 Front View

It administers 6 massage techniques, including Kneading, Tapping, Clapping, Rolling, Shiatsu, and a Kneading/Tapping combo.

You can select the manual mode and use these techniques to build your massage from scratch.

There are also options to customize further by pinpointing a body part that needs extra attention or choosing between different body areas for a more focused massage.

The 3D roller depth can be adjusted for a deeper massage, with an impressive 6 levels to choose from. There are 5 levels to adjust the strength, intensity, and speed as well.

For customization, the number of options is more than plenty to create the massage of your dreams. But we will say that it would have been nice to see more than one advanced technique for a mid-range recliner. Shiatsu is nice, but what about a Swedish massage?

By no means is it a deal-breaker. Not when you see how many auto programs come with the Osaki Pro Admiral massage chair. There are 16 automated programs to choose from for any situation, all with the push of a button.

Osaki Admiral Massage Chair Automated Programs

Here are the Admiral’s auto programs:

  • Office Pro
  • Traveler
  • Text-Neck
  • Lady
  • AM routine
  • Midday nap
  • Re-energize
  • Shape n’ tone
  • Men’s fitness
  • Elderly health
  • Relax
  • Rejuvenate
  • Gentle relief
  • Stretch
  • Recover
  • Thai

Next, we’ll look at two of the Admiral’s most popular massages for soothing away pain and stress.

Osaki Pro Admiral Massage Chair Air Massage

Air Massage

Massage chairs across the market offer air massage. It uses multiple airbags that are placed throughout the chair to administer a relaxing compression massage.

The Admiral has 24 airbags located at the Arms, Shoulders, Lumbar Region, Calves, and Feet. There are 5 intensity levels to choose from.

It’s an above-average setup, and the ability to adjust the intensity with that many levels is rare to see. The compression is beneficial for increasing blood flow and relieving muscle tension.

Osaki Admiral Massage Chair Foot/Calf Massage

Foot/Calf Massage

One of the standout features of the Admiral massage chair is its foot/calf massage. It has everything you need to reap the therapeutic benefits of a professional massage right at home.

We already mentioned that there is heat in the footwells. Combine that with three reflexology foot rollers for the acupuncture points and airbags that encompass the legs, and you’ve got a recipe for success.

One detail we loved that we haven’t seen in other chairs is the Ankle Grip, which holds the feet firmly in place so that the rollers can really get in there to deliver a deep tissue massage.

Osaki Pro Admiral Massage Chair Pros vs. Cons

PROS

  • Extensive L-Track
  • The 3D roller track is industry standard
  • Heat in the lumbar region & footwells
  • 16 auto programs
  • Many customization options
  • Excellent foot/calf massage

CONS

  • Only one Zero-G position
  • Not designed for bigger body types
  • Heavy chair not suitable for small apartments

As far as standard mid-range massage chairs go, the Osaki Pro Admiral electric massage chair is right on point for the money. It offers a moderate feature-set with well-implemented technology that ensures your massage will feel divine.

Some might be dazzled by high-end recliners and the bounty of features they dangle, but keep in mind that sometimes more is not better. This just means a more complicated learning curve and doesn’t attest to the chair’s therapeutic capabilities.

That’s why we love the Admiral. It’s a user-friendly chair with the perfect amount of features to give you therapeutic value. You see this with the cutting-edge L-track, 3D rollers, and heat in both the lower back and footwells.

Plus, you get 16 auto programs, which is above average compared to the amount that other low to mid-range chairs on the market offer. You can also go manual, and this doesn’t disappoint either. The speed, intensity, and depth can all be adjusted.

We had a hard time finding cons for this recliner, and honestly, the one that stands out is the max weight of 220 pounds.

While many massage chairs on the market aren’t built for big body types, this is below average. This means that some people may benefit from having this chair but won’t be able to because of the weight capacity.

We recommend the Osaki Admiral for…

  • People who suffer from chronic back pain
  • People who are on their feet for long hours and suffer from chronic foot/leg pain
  • People who want to enjoy the most popular massage tech for a good deal
  • People who want a recliner with an easy learning curve

You get a standard 3-year warranty that includes:

  • One Year that covers parts and labor
  • 2-3 Years that cover parts only.

Kahuna Chair SM7300

For more customization, a top-rated Body Stretch, and a weight capacity of 320 pounds, this is a prize recliner that accommodates all body types. Best of all? It costs less than the Osaki Admiral!

Titan Chair Osaki 4000LS

If you’re more concerned about back pain and want a low-range chair with many of the same excellent Osaki features, check out the Titan. For slightly fewer features, you still get an excellent heated back massage for a fraction of the price of the Admiral.

Osaki OS-Pro Admiral Massage Chair Review Conclusion

The Osaki Admiral massage chair is a solid option for those who aren’t looking for the fanciest setup but want therapeutic value. For a mid-range recliner, that’s exactly what you get with a high-end massage track and 3D rollers that administer a lifelike deep tissue experience.w

To conclude this Osaki OS-Pro Admiral massage chair review, we recommend this chair for people who suffer from chronic back or foot pain due to the heat in the backrest and footwells. This is also ideal for those who want a user-friendly chair with plenty of auto and manual massage options.
