Core Features Found in All Osaki OS 4000 Series Models
Computer Body Scan System
When you relax into an Osaki 4000 series chair for a massage, the chair first performs a computer body scan. Furthermore, the chair uses the massage rollers to scan and accurately map the unique curvature of your back.
Then, using information gathered from the scan, the seat’s rollers self-adjust to your body throughout the massage, ensuring that you receive the proper massage pressure for maximum benefits.
Zero Gravity Technology
Zero Gravity Technology is one of the hallmark features of the Osaki OS 4000 series. In zero gravity mode, the chair reclines, and the backrest of the chair supports nearly all of your body weight. At the same time, your thighs and legs are positioned slightly above your heart.
This unique reclined position reduces vertical stress on the spine, allows your back muscles to relax deeply, and helps your spine decompress. Having your legs above your heart is a therapeutic position that is known to improve blood circulation. The OS 4000 series chairs offer two stages of zero gravity, with the second stage being more reclined than the first.
S-Track Massage Rollers
The rollers found in the OS 4000 massage chairs are ergonomically designed to apply even pressure along the entire length of the spine. This is made possible by an S-Track that closely matches the curvature of the spine for a more natural and lifelike massage.
Air Massage Technology
Working in conjunction with the S-Track massage rollers, there are a series of strategically placed airbag massagers throughout the OS 4000 massage chairs. These airbags inflate and deflate to massage and compress the parts of your body that need it the most.
Furthermore, the OS 4000 series features Osaki’s new generation of airbag massagers that are designed to have more overall surface area. The increased surface area of each bag allows for a fewer number of bags to be used throughout the chair. With fewer airbags in the chair, there are fewer air pumps and valves, resulting in quieter operation and less power consumed.
These air bags are very durable thanks to industrial grade material but are pliable and soft, giving the user maximum comfort throughout the massage.
Arm Air Massage
Each model in the series has individual air bags that massage the arms and wrists. The style of arm massage varies slightly across the different models, and we’ll go over the differences in more detail when covering the specific models.
Foot and Calf Massage
Whether you sit, stand, or walk all day, your legs and feet take a beating and need some relief. The Osaki OS 4000 Zero Gravity Full Body massage chairs all have foot and calf massagers that thoroughly rub your hard working feet and legs. All models feature airbag massagers for the feet and calves, and some models feature additional rollers for an even deeper foot massage.
Hip and Lumbar Squeeze
Airbags located on either side of the hips and thighs squeeze inward, giving those areas a compression massage. This function is also used in certain pre-set massage programs. It holds the user’s body in place while the back rollers move down the back for a more intense and precise massage.
There are two airbags located in the lower portion of the backrest. These air bags inflate to squeeze and compress, giving the lower back a mild massage.
Shoulder Airbag Massage
Airbags located on both sides of the upper portion of the backrest inflate and press inwards to massage the shoulders. Particularly, in the pre-set massage programs, the shoulder massagers touch the shoulders back and in, pinning the shoulders to the backrest. This action stretches out the muscles in the shoulders, upper arms, and upper back.
Lower Back Heat Therapy
Each model in the OS 4000 series features two heating pads in the lower portion of the backrest. When activated, the heat radiating from the pads warms up and relaxes the muscles, allowing for a deeper, more thorough massage.
Moreover, heat therapy is intended to be used for a maximum of 30 minutes per day, or the duration of a pre-set massage program. Excessive use of the heating pads could overheat the chair and cause the components to fail.
Vibration
In addition to the S-Track massage rollers and airbag massagers, the OS 4000 Series massage chairs feature vibration massage. A high-frequency vibration plate vibrates the seat and back portion of the legs, adding another dimension to the massage experience.
Handheld Remote
All of the OS 4000 series massage chairs feature handheld remotes. However, each model’s remote differs slightly; some have wireless remotes, while others have wired remotes. Two of the models have built-in full-size remotes in addition to handheld remotes.
Pre-Set Massage Programs
The OS 4000 massage chairs are programmed with several pre-set massage programs, each with a particular focus and therapeutic benefit. Each model differs in the total number of pre-set massage programs offered.
Intensity Control
With an OS 4000 massage chair, you have full control over the intensity of your massage. Using the remote, you can control the intensity levels of both the airbag massagers and the roller massage heads. You can also adjust the speed of the massage heads.
Manual Mode
In addition to the pre-set massage programs, you can run any of the OS 4000 massage chairs in manual mode. In manual mode, you can select from six different massage styles: kneading, tapping, shiatsu, rolling, combination, and Swedish.
Manual mode allows you to customize your massage session to your liking completely. You can choose the massage style, the level of intensity, the speed of the roller heads, the specific areas of your body you want to have massaged, and the duration of the session.
Auto-Off Timer
Each model in the OS 4000 series features an auto-off timer that you can set from 5 to 30 minutes. Additionally, the timer serves as a safety feature in the event the user falls asleep during a massage program.
Unique Features of the Osaki OS 4000
The Osaki OS 4000 Executive Zero Gravity Massage Chair is the flagship model of the Osaki 4000 series. This one has all the core features covered above, plus several additional features that are unique to the model.
Auto Leg Scan
The auto leg scan function is unique to the OS 4000 and adjusts the calf and foot massager ottoman to match the length of your legs perfectly. Furthermore, this ensures that the airbag massagers apply pressure to all the right places on your legs.
Using the auto leg scan function is easy: The leg ottoman extends fully, then slowly retracts. When the ottoman is at the correct length, just press your toes down firmly, and it will stop in the perfect position.
Foot Massage Pressure Point Nodes
The foot and calf massager of the OS 4000 features two pressure point nodes. These nodes apply focused pressure to the bottoms of your feet during the massage. On top of that, you can find this feature on the OS 4000 only.
Top and Bottom Arm Massager
The OS 4000 massage chair features a unique full-arm massager that massages both the top and bottoms of the arms and wrists. Air bags in the arm massager inflate to compress and squeeze for a restorative massage. The lower section of the arm massager has small bumps that offer a more invigorating massage. Additionally, the OS 4000 and OS 4000T both feature this top and bottom style arm massager, whereas the OS 4000LS and the OS 4000CS have an open top arm massager.
Full-Size Remote
The OS 4000 is one of two models in the series that features a full-size, easy-to-use remote control. The remote is mounted on the side arm of the chair for easy viewing. The large screen shows you exactly what functions of the chair are currently active.
Using the buttons, you can choose from any of the pre-set massage programs, make adjustments to massage intensity and roller head speed, and set the auto-off timer. A flip down cover on the main remote gives you access to the manual controls of the chair.
Wireless Remote
In addition to the full-size remote, there is a secondary wireless remote that gives you control over the chair while in the zero gravity reclined position. The wireless remote conveniently docks on top of the main remote so you won’t have to worry about losing it.
What the Osaki OS 4000 Massage Chair is Missing
The Osaki OS 4000 is a high-quality chair loaded with features, but it’s missing several features that some of the higher-end models in the 4000 series offer.
OSAKI OS 4000 DIMENSIONS
Unique Features of the Osaki Os 4000T
Here, in this Osaki OS 4000T Massage Chair review, we’ll learn more about the newer, upgraded version of the original OS 4000.
We’ll compare the Osaki OS 4000 vs OS 4000T, as most of the features of this massage chair are identical to the former. However, the addition of a foot roller massager may give this one a slight edge over the latter.
Dual-Action Foot Rollers
The calf and foot massager of the OS 4000T features two rows of reflexology massagers below the feet.
When activated, the rollers spin and stimulate the acupressure points along the bottom of the feet. We can find the style of foot roller on the OS 4000T and OS 4000LS models.
Top and Bottom Arm Massagers
On both sides of the chair, a unique arm massager gives you a full airbag compression massage along the top and bottom of your arms and wrists. This style of arm massager is the same as that found on the OS 4000 model but is different than the OS 4000LS and OS 4000 CS.
Auto Leg Scan
Like the original OS 4000, the OS 4000T features auto leg scan that adjusts the length of the leg ottoman to your specific leg length.
Full-size Remote
A full-size remote is mounted on the side arm of the chair, giving you a large viewing screen that shows exactly what massage programs and settings are active.
A flip down cover provides you access to the manual mode controls for full control over the chair’s functionality.
WIRELESS REMOTE
Just like the OS 4000, the OS 4000T features a separate wireless remote that docks on top of the full-size remote. The wireless remote makes it easy to control the chair while in the zero gravity reclining mode.
What the Osaki OS 4000T is Missing
Color Variants of Osaki OS 4000T
OSAKI OS 4000T DIMENSIONS
Unique Features of the Osaki Os 4000 LS
The Osaki OS 4000 LS massage chair is an excellent choice for users that need a bit of extra space in the chair. With adjustable shoulder massagers and extendable ottoman, the chair can accommodate taller individuals with broader shoulders better than the OS 4000 or the OS 4000T.
L-TRACK MASSAGE ROLLERS
One of the main distinctions of the OS 4000LS is its L-Track massage rollers. The chair combines both the L-Track massage rollers and the S-Track massage rollers found on the other OS 4000 series chairs. Thus, it provides a full 42 inches of massage coverage from the neck all the way to the buttocks.
DUAL ACTION FOOT ROLLERS
Two rows of reflexology-style foot rollers are found in the foot section of the calf and foot massager. These foot rollers spin and stimulate the acupressure points on the bottom of the feet. These are the same foot rollers used on the OS 4000T.
Adjustable Shoulder Massagers
The ability to change the width of the shoulder massagers is one of the most attractive features of the OS 4000LS. There are three shoulder width settings to choose from, making this a great chair for households with users of different sizes.
Arm Air Massage
Airbag arm massagers on either side of the chair give you a compression massage on your arms and wrists. However, it’s important to note that the arm massagers on the OS 4000LS only cover the sides of the arms.
Whereas, the arm massagers on the OS 4000 and OS 4000T cover the tops and bottoms of the arms as well. Both designs provide a great arm massage, just in different ways.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE PROGRAMS
Programmed with pre-set massage programs, the Osaki OS 4000LS gives you a deep tissue massage right out of the gate. While you can achieve a deep tissue massage with the OS 4000 or OS 4000T, you have to do so in the manual mode with the chair in zero gravity recline mode.
With the OS 4000LS, you can get a deeper massage while in the upright position with pre-set programs than you can in the other chairs.
Space Saving Recline Technology
While the OS 4000LS is slightly bulkier than the OS 4000 and OS 4000T, it has a specially designed reclining track that makes the chair highly space-efficient.
Instead of reclining straight back like most massage chairs, the space-saving recline track extends the chair forward as it reclines, eliminating the need for excessive space behind the chair. Only four inches of space behind the chair is necessary for the chair to recline fully.
Spring-Loaded Ottoman
Another feature that makes the OS 4000LS ideal for taller users is the spring-loaded ottoman. The ottoman extends effortlessly by simply pushing out with your legs.
It’s ideal for automatic programs that take you from upright to reclining and back when many ottoman length adjustments may be required.
Handheld Remote
Unlike the OS 4000 and OS 4000T, the Osaki OS 4000 LS does not have a full-size remote but instead has an upgraded handheld remote. The remote has a LED screen that’s bright and easy-to-see.
You can select your desired pre-set massage program, and adjust intensity and speed levels. Best of all, you can operate the chair in manual mode all in the palm of your hand.
USB CHARGING STATION
Alongside the handheld remote, there’s a convenient USB charging station that lets you plug in your cell phone, mp3 player, or any other device that uses a USB charge cable.

Unique Features of the Osaki OS 4000 CS
At first glance, the Osaki OS 4000 CS Massage Chair appears to be identical to the OS 4000LS, and it nearly is. So what’s the difference between the two models? Let’s find out through this Osaki OS 4000 CS review.
It’s quite simple: the OS 4000LS has dual-action foot rollers and the OS 4000CS does not. That’s it.
All of the other features found on the OS 4000LS, besides the foot rollers, are found on the Osaki OS 4000 CS massage chair.
This includes L-Track massage rollers, adjustable shoulder massagers, spring loaded adjustable ottoman, space-saving recline technology, hand-held remote and a USB charging station.

Osaki OS 3000 vs OS 4000
When shopping for an Osaki OS 4000 series massage chair, you’ll likely come across Osaki’s many other high-quality massage chairs. The OS 3000 is one of Osaki’s massage chairs that’s most commonly compared to the OS 4000 series.
Buying a new massage chair is a serious investment no matter how you look at it, and the price is often a deciding factor when choosing one. If you’re drawn to the features of the OS 4000 series, but aren’t sure if you can stretch your budget that much, the OS 3000 is a less expensive option that may be the right choice for you. That said, are you willing to give up features just to save some money?
Let’s take a look at the features and specifications of the OS 3000 to see how it compares to the OS 4000 series massage chairs.
Unique Features of the Os 3000 as Compared to the Os 4000
Extended Massage Track
The OS 3000 has an extended roller track that provides massage all the way from the neck to the buttocks and thighs.
This track system is similar to the L-track system found on the OS 4000LS and OS 4000CS, but only measures 36 inches while the L-track measures 42 inches. That said, the OS 3000 has one of the longest massage tracks of any chair in its price range.
Zero Gravity Recline
Just like all the massage chair models in the OS 4000 series, the OS 3000 has zero gravity recline technology that puts your body in the perfect position to get maximum benefits from your massage.
Roller Width Control
With the OS 3000, you can adjust the width of the massage roller heads in certain pre-set massage programs. This feature is not in the OS 4000 series massage chairs.
Removable Massage Intensity Pad
This is another feature that you cannot find on any of the OS 4000 series chairs. The removable massage intensity pad on the OS 3000 is made of memory foam and located inside the backrest pad. By removing the pad, you can effectively increase the intensity of the massage.
While this feature does give you control over the massage intensity, the OS 4000 massage chairs generally have more power and more range of control that allows you to achieve a more intense massage simply by changing a few settings.
Adjustable Leg Ottoman
The leg ottoman on the OS 3000 is very similar to the ones found on the OS 4000LS and OS 4000CS. To make it longer, you only need to push your legs out.
This style of leg ottoman is different than the auto-scan leg ottoman found on the OS 4000 and OS 4000T and doesn’t feature automatic adjustments.
Vibration Massage
Like the OS 4000 massage chairs, the OS 3000 has a high-frequency vibration plate that rubs the seat area and the back of the legs.
Six Massage Styles
With the OS 3000, you can choose from six massage styles: tapping, shiatsu, Swedish, dual action, and UNIQ (buttock rolling).
The first five are the same massage styles found on the OS 4000 massage chairs. UNIQ, the sixth style, is only found on the OS 3000. This style is a special buttock and thigh massage that’s performed with the extended rollers of the chair.
Four Pre-Set Massage Programs
Unlike the OS 4000 chairs that have either six or eight pre-set massage programs, the OS 3000 has only four: classic I, classic II, neck, and feet.
These four basic massage programs cover all the major body areas that benefit from massage therapy. However, if you want more variety, then you’ll appreciate the extra programs that the OS 4000 massage chairs offer.
Manual Mode
In addition to the pre-set massage modes, the OS 3000, you can operate in manual mode. This allows you to make all the adjustments you need to for a customized massage experience.
Computer Body Scan
When you sit down in the OS 3000 massage chair for a massage, the massage rollers will scan and map the curves of your spine, just like the OS 4000 chairs do.
Chromatherapy Lighting
This feature is typically only found in Osaki’s higher-end chairs. LED lights on the outside of the chair emit a soft blue light onto the walls of the room, giving you a serene, spa-like experience when the room is dark. The lighting feature is not on any of the OS 4000 series massage chairs.
Hand-Held Remote
The OS 3000 has a newly designed hand-held remote that makes it easy to make selections, adjust settings, and see what programs are active in the chair. This one is similar to the remote used on the OS 4000LS and OS 4000CS but is more compact.
What the Osaki OS 3000 is Missing
