Imagine making your favorite specialty coffee drinks at home with a superautomatic without having to run to the cafe every day.

Some might say, “Yea, but you can’t make iced coffee, and that’s my favorite.”

Well, now you can.

One brand is stepping up with a line of espresso machines that can brew iced coffee at the push of a button. We cover it all in our DeLonghi Dinamica review!

DeLonghi Dinamica Fully Automatic Coffee Maker & Espresso Machine Overview

DeLonghi is an Italian brand regarded as a pioneer and market leader in coffee technology. Their innovative Dinamica superautomatic series features an array of low to high-priced espresso machines centered on convenience, quality, and innovation.

The DeLonghi Dinamica dimensions are around 9.29” x 16.89” x 13.7”, weighing between 20-23 pounds. This sleek and narrow design is perfect for smaller kitchens, and it should slide seamlessly underneath low-hanging cabinets.

The highlight feature of the Dinamica series is the debut of TrueBrew Over Ice technology. It’s the first superautomatic on the market that can automatically make iced coffee.

There are plenty of other cutting-edge features that this series has to offer novices and seasoned espresso aficionados alike, which we will get into later.

But first, let’s meet the Dinamica models we’ll be comparing:

DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35020B (ECAM35020W/ECAM35025SB)

DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35020

Recommended For: People who want a standard espresso machine that is affordable and high quality.

Check Latest Price

This fully automatic espresso maker comes in black or white plastic with metal accents. The ECAM35025SB version is encased in stainless steel, so there is a slight price hike.

This is the most standard model of the Dinamica series, featuring a stainless steel burr grinder, a manual Panarello steam wand, and the patented TrueBrew tech.

DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35075SI

Recommended For: People who like convenience with the push of a button and a lot of drink variety.

This mid-range stainless steel fully automatic features the same TrueBrew tech, but the steam wand is automatic, not manual, like the DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM 35020. It also offers an impressive 18 drink menu and dual-boilers for simultaneous brewing and steaming.

DeLonghi Dinamica Plus ECAM370

This luxury titanium model will cost you a pretty penny. The highlight feature is the color touch display that allows you to control every setting automatically. You can connect your phone via Bluetooth and use the De’Longhi Coffee Link App to control the machine from anywhere.

Dinamica DeLonghi Features

Each of the espresso machines in the DeLonghi Dinamica TrueBrew series is designed with convenience in mind.

From grinding the beans to cleaning, the “One-Touch” digital displays allow you to initiate each function by following the icons and pushing a button.

In this section, we’ll look at the main features of each model and compare the performance, so you can decide which is best for your needs.

Water Reservoir

Image of Delonghi Dinamica ECAM35075SI Water Reservoir

All three models come with a removable 60-oz reservoir, making it easier to clean and refill.

The size is slightly above average, as many high-end models hold over 60 oz. We’d say this is large enough for personal use or a small household, but for an office environment, you’ll find yourself refilling the tank constantly, and that can get annoying.

Each Dinamica coffee maker comes with a water filter to help purify your water for improved coffee flavor. By using a filter, you’ll have to descale less frequently- another added convenience.

Bean Hopper

Image of DeLonghi Dinamica Plus ECAM370 Bean Hopper

The bean hopper for each model is located right on top for easy refilling. All three models hold a capacity of 10.5 oz of fresh, whole roasted beans.

Note that you won’t be able to remove the beans once they’re in the hopper, so pick your flavor carefully and use it up completely before refilling with a different type.

De’Longhi touts the “Bean-To-Cup” motto, so after the beans are poured, you can adjust your drink settings, and the beans flow straight to the grinder before being brewed automatically.

All three models have a separate bypass chute for pre-ground coffee.

Built-In Grinder

One of the most important features of any superautomatic is the integrated grinder. With semi-automatics, you have to buy this part separately, which can cost an extra $100 or more.

And, you want to be picky with your grinder. Stainless steel blades smash the coffee beans, resulting in inconsistent flavor.

The best is a burr grinder. While ceramic is top-of-the-line because it does not overheat, stainless steel burr grinders will at least ensure the beans are grounded to your preferred fineness.

The Dinamica series all possess the conical stainless steel burr grinder, featuring steeper sides that keep the beans from getting stuck on their way to the grinder.

We were most delighted to see 13 grind settings for all three machines, giving you complete control to finetune your grind. Many top brand machines don’t offer as many settings!

Image of Delonghi ECAM35020B Milk Frothing System

Milk Frothing System

Up to this point, the three models we are considering in this Dinamica DeLonghi review are more or less the same as far as parts go. The milk frothing system is where we see stark differences.

The DeLonghi ECAM35020 is the only Dinamica to feature a manual, adjustable steam wand. Unlike the other two models, it doesn’t come with its own milk carafe, so this is something you’ll have to purchase separately.

Use the adjustable slider to choose how thick you’d like your froth and let her rip. It works well and will produce a nice, silky foam, but if you’re a microfoam nut who likes to draw cat faces on your coffee, this may not be the frothing system you’re looking for.

Instead, the Dinamica ECAM35075SI or Dinamica Plus might be more up your alley with the LatteCrema System, which lets you automatically froth your milk with the push of a button for a precisely textured latte and cappuccinos.

Some DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM 350.75 reviews have stated that the milk temperature doesn’t get hot enough, which some users have corrected by microwaving the milk before attaching the carafe to the machine.

This takes away from the convenience factor, though, especially for the price you pay.

The verdict: If you’re not a big milk coffee fan, then the DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35020 may be your best bet. It is manual. But if you don’t use milk that much, then that doesn’t matter, and you’ll pay less as a result.

TrueBrew Over Ice Technology

Image of Delonghi Dinamica ECAM35020B TrueBrew Over Ice Technology

We think DeLonghi did a thorough job with the implementation of this feature. They created a custom iced coffee recipe, then lowered the brew temperature while adding a preinfusion.

The result is a full-bodied, flavorful DeLonghi iced coffee that isn’t watered down. You can even adjust the strength to give it just enough kick to satisfy your taste.

Brewing Capabilities

Both the Dinamica Plus and the DeLonghi Dinamica 35075S come with dual boilers that let you brew, steam, and froth simultaneously.

This is the best type of boiler system on the market, so you don’t have to wait for in-between brewing and steaming to heat, then cool, then heat again…who has time for that with work to jet off to?

The DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35020b has a Thermoblock brew system and 15-bar pressure pump, which heats up quickly in 40 seconds before it’s ready to brew. Reviewers justify this, saying it’s a fast and reliable machine.

Image of DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35020B Drink Menu

Dinamica ECAM35020 Drink Menu

You can make the basics, including espresso, coffee, and drip-style coffee. If you want to make a cappuccino or a latte, you have to whip it up manually.

This may be good enough for standard coffee drinkers, but if you want a wide variety, you can get a much more expansive menu with the other models- for a higher price, of course.

Image of DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM35075SI Drink Menu

Dinamica ECAM35075SI Drink Menu

The Dinamica ECAM35075SI boasts the most choices, with 18 coffee drink options automatically brewed with the push of a button. This includes espresso, coffee, macchiato, ristretto, latte, cappuccino, flat white, and more.

We love the My Menu Personalization function for saving your favorite drink recipes with this model, as well as the Dinamica Plus. You can adjust the coffee strength, drink size, and milk amount, and the machine will remember your settings next time.

Image of DeLonghi Dinamica Plus ECAM370 Drink Menu

Dinamica Delonghi Plus Drink Menu

The Dinamica Plus offers 16 drinks and takes it one step further by letting you create three user profiles for a more personalized experience. This is done through the digital display or your smartphone with the Coffee Link App. You can fully customize your drinks and even learn tips for brewing espresso.

Even though this is high-tech, is it really necessary? Some ECAM37095t reviews have complained that the learning curve is steep because the number of features is overwhelming, and the app is confusing to understand.

The verdict: We liked the number of drink options you get with the ECAM35075SI. The variety is nice, and you can still adjust and save your drink settings with the My Menu function for a lower price than the DeLonghi Ecam Dinamica Plus.

De’Longhi Dinamica Warranty

When you purchase a DeLonghi Dinamica espresso machine, you get a 2-Year Warranty, plus an additional year if you register your product.

Dinamica Automatic Coffee & Espresso Machine Cleaning Process

Image of Delonghi Dinamica Cleaning Process

You won’t have any cleaning woes with the Dinamica series– once you learn how to do it, that is.

Some reviews have said it’s complicated following the instructions. Even though all three machines will send a notification when something needs to be refilled or descaled, you will have to read the manual carefully.

With that being said, the maintenance process was designed to be as simple as possible and accomplished without the need for chemicals.

All models have a removable brew unit, water tank, drip tray, and grounds drawer. You can rinse these items under the tap, then snap them back into place.

The frother needs to be cleaned once a week by purging the steam system with hot water to prevent dried milk from forming.

There is a RINSE function that you can push, and the machine will automatically flush out the entire system. It will also initiate the rinse cycle every time you turn off the device.

DeLonghi Dinamica Coffee Maker Series Pros vs. Cons

Dinamica earned its spot on the list of superautomatic favorites due to its reliability, quality coffee, and innovative technology. It’s the first range of espresso makers to offer an automatic iced coffee option, along with all of your classic cafe favorites.

All three models are designed to be compact, so they’re ideal for a small apartment or if you have limited counter space. Depending on the model, you have black/white plastic, stainless steel, or titanium parts.

The implementation of the features is top quality. All three models have an integrated stainless steel burr grinder with 13 grind settings to get the fineness of your ground coffee just right.

You can use the digital display to control every aspect of the machine, from adjusting the coffee strength, temperature, and volume to saving your drink profiles. If there is ever an error or your machine needs maintenance, it will let you know with a notification.

As you know, there are three models we focused on, and each offers its own unique set of characteristics to suit the needs of all users.

The Dinamica ECAM35020 is perfect for…

If you’re new to the world of espresso and don’t want to pay thousands for a feature-laden luxury superautomatic, then you’ll want to go for the Dinamica ECAM35020.

It’s a low-priced espresso maker that offers the basics, along with the new TrueBrew tech. The drink menu isn’t overwhelming, and it comes equipped with a manual, adjustable steam wand for low-key frothing.

You still get the top-notch steel burr grinder and 40-second rapid warm-up time. The Thermoblock brews outstanding coffee at the push of a button. Plus, you can adjust and save your drink settings for next time.

Sure, it’s made from plastic, and everyone knows plastic parts wear out quickly. But you can just spend a little more and get the DeLonghi Dinamica stainless steel ECAM35025SB if it’s important to you.

The Dinamica ECAM35075SI is perfect for…

If you love your milk coffee drinks and want the ability to multitask, then the ECAM35075SI is a great model to consider.

You can download the Coffee Link App to control the machine from your smartphone, no matter where you are in your home. You can also save multiple custom drink profiles and learn savvy tips to streamline your espresso-making skills.

We think it’s a little over the top, but some may like the smart color display and the profile customization settings. When it comes to brewing quality coffee, it offers the same features as the ECAM35075SI, but for a higher price.

We recommend this for anyone who can afford it and are passionate about the latest coffee technology.
