Omega Aires Massage Chair

  • Ease of Use
  • Overall Massage Quality
  • Customization Options
  • Value for the Money

Summary

Although the Omega Aires massage chair features air massage and a good foot and calf massage system, it has very little to offer in terms of overall massage quality and customization options. But due to its lack of features, it’s very easy to operate. It’s one other redeeming quality: it looks more like a standard barrel chair than a robotic massage chair.

3.2

Omega Aires

At first glance, the Omega Aires massage chair looks like a standard accent chair. But with the press of a button, it transforms from a casual lounger into a full body massage chairComing in at under $1,000, the Aires is on the lower end of the massage chair price scale. And among the many low-priced chairs on the market, the Aires is one of the most visually appealing options available. That said, it somewhat lacks in the massage feature department.

So to give you a better idea of what this chair has to offer, the Omega Aires massage chair review takes a look at the features and components of this chair. Also, we'll see what they mean in terms of massage quality and overall value for the money. Then, we compare the Aires with two other popular massage chairs in the same price range to provide a more holistic overview of it.

Features and Components of the Omega Aires Massage Chair

Air Massage System

One thing you won't find on the Omega Aires is roller massage. Instead, the Aires provides full body massage with a system of airbag massagers placed throughout the chair. While there are a total of 19 airbags in the Aires, most of them (14) are located in the calf and foot massager. That leaves two airbags for the back, two for the neck, and one for the seat.

Although airbags generally provide an effective compression massage, the low number of upper body airbags in the Aires will most likely leave you wanting more. Simply put, don't expect a high level of massage quality for the upper body. You can, however, expect a higher standard of massage quality for the legs and feet. This brings us to our next feature...

Reflexology Foot Massage System with Foot Roller

omega-aires-massage-chair-vs-human-touch-zerog-volito-flexglide-review-Consumer-Files

While the upper body massage capabilities are lacking on the Aires, the legs and feet get much more attention. Within the footrest of the Aires, a combination of air massage, roller massage, reflexology nodes, and heat therapy provide a comprehensive massage for the feet.

The airbags squeeze and release the legs performing compression massage, which is known to increase circulation, reduce swelling, and help the muscles of the legs and feet deeply relax. When the airbags inflate, the legs and feet are pressed firmly against the reflexology nodes, stimulating trigger points on the feet.

A massage roller under the feet spins and pulsates in conjunction with the airbags, kneading and massaging from heel to toe. All factors combined, the Aires delivers an exceptional foot massage on par with what you'd find on a higher-end massage chair.

Motorized Footrest

In addition to the massage capabilities of the Aires' footrest, it’s fully motorized. That means it can be raised and lowered automatically using the remote control.

One of the unique qualities of the footrest is that when not in use, you can hide it under the chair with the push of a button.

This gives the Aires its toned-down look, making it a great option for settings where a more conventional massage chair would look out of place — offices, waiting rooms, etc.

Synthetic Leather Upholstery

omega-aires-massage-chair-remote-control-review-Consumer-Files

Like most massage chairs on the market, the Omega Aires is upholstered in a synthetic leather material. Although not the most luxurious material, the synthetic leather of the Aires is very soft, breathable for added comfort. It is also waterproof to make cleanup easy if one ever spills drinks or other liquids on it. The upholstery of the Aires is available in three colors: gray, red, and black.

Remote Control

Since there are only a few massage options on the Aires, a big, elaborate remote control isn't needed. Instead, a small, handheld corded remote featuring only seven buttons controls every aspect of the chair.

Using the remote, you can raise, lower, and hide the footrest; activate foot air massage, roller massage, and heat therapy; and activate seat and upper body air massage. When the remote is not in use, it can be stored in a convenient pocket on the side of the chair.

Massage Programs of the Omega Aires

Just as the Omega Aires lacks in massage features, so is it lacking in massage programs. In fact, there are only four massage programs.

One Automatic Air Massage Program

The primary massage program on the Aires provides an automatic full-body air massage. This program simply activates the airbags throughout the massage chair and runs through a series of air compression movements.

Three Manual Air Massage Programs

The three manual air massage programs on the Aires allow you to choose which area of the body you'd like massaged. One mode activates air massage in the back, another in the waist, and the last in the calves and feet.

Pros and Cons of the Omega Aires Massage Chair

As we mentioned, the Omega Aires massage chair is quite limited in terms of massage features and options. The trade-off is that it's relatively inexpensive and has a casual look. To fully sum up what the Aires has to offer, let's do a quick wrap up of its pros and cons.

  • Looks like a standard accent chair
  • Retractable hide-a-way footrest
  • Comprehensive reflexology foot massage system
  • Relatively inexpensive
  • No roller massage for back
  • Small number of airbags in the upper body
  • Limited number of massage programs
  • Limited customization features

How Does the Omega Aires Massage Chair Compare?

Even though the Omega Aires is a lower-priced massage chair, it’s still worth considering if it’s the best chair for your money. The way to do this is to compare it with other massage chairs that have similar prices and features. Fortunately, we’re taking some of that work off your plate by presenting you with two side-by-side comparisons.

For this comparison, we've chosen two massage chairs that, like the Aires, don't look like your standard massage chair. They look more like casual recliners and accent chairs than they do high-tech robotic massage chairs.

Both comparison chairs are made by Human Touch, one of the leading massage chair brands. The first model, the Human Touch ZeroG Volito is slightly more expensive than the Aires, while the second model, the Human Touch iJoy-2580, is slightly less costly. That way you can see what spending a little more will get you, as well as what it might look like to save your money and go with a cheaper model. Let's get into it.

Omega Aires vs. Human Touch ZeroG Volito

The Human Touch ZeroG Volito costs around $100 more than the Omega Aires. You can lump them together in the same general category — massage chairs that don't look like massage chairs. However, the two chairs differ significantly regarding aesthetics and massage features.

Aesthetics

omega-aires-massage-chair-vs-human-touch-zerog-volito-review-Consumer-Files

While the Omega Aires is modeled after a classic barrel accent chair, the Human Touch ZeroG Volito has a much more modern look and feel. Much of this is due to its open-frame design, which creates significant space under the chair — something not commonly seen on massage chairs.

Both chairs would look great in a wide variety of settings from living rooms to professional offices. You may find the Omega Aires more subdued, and not likely to draw attention to itself. On the other hand, the Human Touch Volito catches the eye with its modern lines and warm caramel color.

Massage Components

The most drastic difference between the Omega Aires and the Human Touch Volito is found in their massage components. They are almost exact opposites.

As we covered above, the primary massage method of the Aires is air massage. The Volito, however, only uses roller massage — no air massage whatsoever. The two massage methods are very different in terms of their therapeutic benefits and overall experience.

With air massage, you get a more subtle compression massage with the main advantage of gentle muscle relaxation and increased circulation. Roller massage, however, is typically more invigorating, getting deeper into the muscles for a more intense experience.

If you want a chair in which you can simply relax and receive gentle compression massage, the Aires may suit you fine. But if you want a more vigorous massage with more tangible results, the Volito may be a better choice.

Leg and Foot Massage Capabilities

Both the Aires and Volito offer ample leg and foot massage features, though they are quite different. As mentioned, the Aires uses a combination of air massage, foot roller massage, heat therapy, and reflexology nodes to massage the feet thoroughly.

The Volito uses something Human Touch calls "FigureEight CirQlation" technology, which is essentially a paddle massage system that massages the legs in a continuous upward wave-like motion.

Other than the specific foot massage technologies used, the key difference between the two chairs is that the Aires can massage both the legs feet at the same time while the Volito can only massage the legs or the feet — not both. This is due to its open-toed rotating footrest design which functions in two different positions: one for the calves and one for the feet.

If you like the idea of foot and calf massage simultaneously, the Omega Aires is for you. But if a continuous movement of spinning paddles up your feet or legs sounds good, consider the Volito.

Zero Gravity Recline

omega-aires-massage-chair-vs-human-touch-zerog-volito-zero-gravity-reviews-Consumer-Files

Here's the feature that could easily put the Volito ahead of the Aires: Zero Gravity recline.

Due to its barrel chair design, the Omega Aires doesn't recline at all. The footrest elevates, but the chair back remains in a fixed position. The Human Touch Volito, however, features a fully powered backrest that reclines all the way back into the Zero Gravity position — spine nearly horizontal with the legs elevated above the heart.

There are many benefits associated with the Zero Gravity position including deep relaxation, increased circulation, and decompression of the spine. Somehow, this feature alone makes the Human Touch Volito a winner over the Omega Aires.

For only $100 more, the Human Touch Volito is a very attractive option, especially if you want to get the most out of every massage session by relaxing in the Zero Gravity position.

Omega Aires vs. Human Touch iJoy-2580

If the price tag of the Omega Aires is already a stretch, take a look at the Human Touch iJoy-2580. It too has a similar massage-chair-in-disguise look but is roughly $200 cheaper than the Aires.

Aesthetics

Like the Aires, the iJoy-2580 is upholstered in synthetic leather. But that's really all the two chairs have in common aesthetically. The iJoy-2580 has a more rounded design and overall more casual look than the Aires. While it could fit in in a contemporary living room, it's likely better suited for a game, movie, or dorm room.

Massage Components

Like the Human Touch Volito, the iJoy-2580 only features roller massage as its primary massage method — no air massage. The rollers travel up and down the back, kneading and rubbing the muscles to alleviate soreness and tension with four therapeutic massage techniques.

It's likely that you'll get a more thorough back massage from the iJoy-2580, as there are a limited number of airbag massagers in the backrest of the Omega Aires. The trade-off is that the iJoy-2580 doesn't offer leg or foot massage of any kind, while the Aires has a comprehensive foot massage system.

omega-aires-massage-chair-vs-human-touch-ijoy-review-Consumer-Files

It's a tough call between a great back massage and a great foot massage. Which do you think you'll need more at the end of the day?

The Winner Is?

If you have the extra money in your budget, we feel you'll be most happy with the Human Touch ZeroG Volito massage chair. That's not to say the Omega Aires isn't a great chair for what it is, but there's a reason you're shopping for a massage chair — to get a high-quality massage. The Aires just can't stand up to the roller massage and Zero Gravity capabilities of the Volito.

Omega Aires Massage Chair Review - Final Thoughts

If you have a room in your home that needs a stylish accent chair and would like to have the added benefit of a few massage features, the Omega Aires massage chair would make an excellent choice. But if you're seeking a chair with the sole purpose of delivering high-quality massage therapy, there are other chairs on the market. An example of this is the Human Touch Volito that outperforms the Omega Aires and only costs a little more. We hope that this Omega Aires massage chair review helped you make your buying decision.
