Features of the Cozzia Massage Chair 16027

30-Inch S-Track

Cozzia 16027 Zero-Gravity Massage Chair S Track - ConsumerFiles-283

When it comes to massage quality, the most critical aspect of a massage chair is its roller system. And beyond the rollers themselves, the most important component of the system is track.

Thankfully, the Cozzia 16027 zero gravity shiatsu massage chair features an S-track design that's been proven to be highly effective and is used in all the best massage chairs.

It's called an S-Track because the track is actually "S" shaped, just like the human spine. When the rollers travel up and down the track, they remain in constant contact with the back muscles, even throughout the lumbar area which is notoriously troublesome.

The S-Track measures 30 inches, allowing the massage rollers to travel continuously from the top of the neck to the base of the spine.

While there are many massage chairs available with longer tracks, most chairs feature tracks in the 24 to 27-inch range. By that standard, the Cozzia 16027 is above average.

Automatic Body Scan

Cozzia Model 16027 Body Scan - ConsumerFiles-283

Further increasing the efficiency of the S-Track roller system, the Cozzia 16027 uses an automatic body scan feature to customize the fit of the massage rollers to the uniqueness of each individual user.

During the scan, the rollers travel up and down the back to determine the general shape of the user's body, with a close focus on the height of the shoulders.

Then, when a program is underway, the rollers automatically adapt to the size of the user to ensure that the rollers massage all the right places on the back.

The body scan runs automatically before any massage program begins. Alternatively, you can use controls on the remote to initiate the scan or adjust the maximum height the massage rollers will travel manually.

Full Body Air Pressure Massage

Cozzia Massage Chair 16027 Air Pressure - ConsumerFiles-283

To offer a truly holistic massage experience, the Cozzia 16027 features a full body air pressure massage system with 36 airbags.

There are two airbags in the backrest, two in the seat, and 20 in the leg ottoman. The airbags inflate and deflate to perform kneading and compression massage in the areas rollers can’t reach.

Unfortunately, the Cozzia 16027 doesn't feature air massage for the arms. This is somewhat surprising considering the design of the chair's armrest is very similar to other massage chair models that do feature arm massage. The leg and foot air massage of the Cozzia 16027, however, is very thorough providing much-needed relief and relaxation to the calf muscles, ankles, feet, and toes.

2 Stage Zero Gravity

Cozzia 16027 Zero Gravity Massage Chair - ConsumerFiles-283

The best way to get the maximum benefits out of a massage in the Cozzia 16027 is by reclining into the Zero Gravity position. And with two stages of Zero Gravity available — stage two being more reclined — you have more options to help you get as comfortable as possible.

In the Zero Gravity position, your body is cradled by the chair, completely supported. The backrest reclines, the seat tilts back slightly, and the leg ottoman elevates bringing the knees slightly higher than the chest.

This position is also referred to as the "neutral posture position" and greatly reduces the vertical strain placed on the body, particularly the spine and supporting muscles. Your muscles can deeply relax and unwind and your spine can decompress.

Another benefit of Zero Gravity is that with more of your body weight positioned over the backrest, the massage rollers can penetrate deeper into the muscles for a deep tissue-like experience.

Automatic Ottoman Adjustment

Similar to the automatic body scan feature, the leg ottoman automatically adjusts to your unique leg length. When a massage program is activated, the leg ottoman extends fully, then slowly retracts until it contacts the soles of your feet and stops in place. This allows users of practically all heights to use the chair without needing to fuss with settings to achieve the proper fit.

Controls on the remote also allow you to activate the scan or adjust the length of the leg ottoman manually.

Seat Vibration

Cozzia 16027 Zero Gravity Shiatsu Massage Chair Seat Vibration - ConsumerFiles-283

Vibration plates in the seat of the chair provide vibration massage to the thighs, buttocks, and hips. When combined with the chair's other massage functions, vibration massage can have a very soothing effect and help you get relaxed quickly.

Power Surge Detector with Automatic Shutoff

As a precautionary safety measure, the Cozzia 16027 features automatic shutoff that is triggered by a power surge, pressure, and temperature detector.

If the chair is exposed to a sudden impulse of electrical current or an increase in pressure or temperature, the chair will automatically shut off in an attempt to preserve the electrical components.

Synthetic Leather Upholstery

The exterior of the chair is upholstered in a synthetic leather material. While it feels like leather, it's much more durable and stain resistant than if it were real leather. Cleaning the chair is as simple as a quick vacuum or wipe-down with a damp cloth.

Large Control Panel with Mini Wireless Remote

Cozzia 16027 Massage Chair Reviews Remote - ConsumerFiles-283

Mounted to the side panel of the chair, a large control panel sits docked on a pedestal stand. The remote can be removed from the stand for easy use in the reclined position. Or, the separate mini wireless remote control can be used to make changes to the most commonly adjusted features of the chair.

Since the control panel is so large, practically every feature has its own button. A big LCD screen in the middle of the panel displays all of the settings on the chair along with a body diagram that provides a visual representation of the areas currently being massaged. This is particularly handy when operating the chair in manual mode.

Speaking of manual mode... The controls for the manual operations of the chair are concealed under a flip-down cover on the bottom portion of the remote. Here, every little detail of your massage session can be controlled and customized. Next, we'll get into the automatic and manual massage controls of the Cozzia 16027.

Massage Programs of the Cozzia Model 16027

The most convenient way to enjoy a massage in the Cozzia 16027 zero-gravity massage chair is by using one of the chair's full body automatic programs...

Compared to many other chairs in the price range, the Cozzia 16027 massage chair has a great selection of massage programs and manual controls.

6 Full Body Auto Programs

Combining the chair's roller massage techniques and air pressure massage, the automatic programs of the Cozzia 16027 offer comprehensive massage from head to toe.

There are six different programs to choose from, each offering something unique. They are:

Cozzia 16027 Massage Chair Reviews Auto Programs - ConsumerFiles-283
  • Healthcare
  • Relax
  • Therapy
  • Smart (Stretch)
  • Circulation
  • Demo

Although the auto programs are essentially hands-off, you do have the option to adjust the strength speed of the massage rollers, as well as the intensity of the airbag massagers.

Localized Auto Programs

In addition to the full body automatic programs, the Cozzia 16027 also offers localized auto programs that provide focused massage for specific areas of the body.

The three localized auto programs massage the following areas:

  • Neck/shoulder
  • Back/lumbar
  • Lower body

Like the full body auto programs, if the auto scan has yet to be conducted, it will run automatically when a localized auto program is activated. You can also adjust the strength and speed of the massage rollers and intensity of the airbags.

Automatic Massage Timer

Both the full body and localized automatic massage programs operate on a timer of up to 30 minutes. The duration of the massage program can be set with the following intervals in minutes:

5

10

15

25

30

When the timer ends, the backrest and leg ottoman will automatically restore to the upright position and the massage rollers will move to their starting place.

Manual Massage Controls

Beyond the automatic programs, the Cozzia 16027 features a full suite of manual controls that allow you to customize your massage session as you please. Let's go through the process of creating a manual massage:

1.

Get comfortable

You can choose to enjoy your massage in the upright position, but for maximum relaxation, you'll want to move into the Zero Gravity position. Simply press the "Zero-G" button once to enter stage one Zero Gravity and twice to enter stage two.

2.

Choose a massage technique

From here on out, all of the manual massage selections are made using the buttons underneath the flip-down cover on the control panel remote. There is a button for each massage technique — choose whichever you prefer and keep in mind you can change techniques whenever you'd like. When a technique is selected, the chair will first perform the auto scan to measure your body and adapt the rollers to your shape.

3.

Adjust the massage roller speed

There are five levels of roller speed available for the tapping, clapping, Swedish, and shiatsu massage techniques. Roller speed can't be adjusted when using the rolling or kneading techniques

4.

Adjust the massage roller width

There are three levels of roller width adjustment when using the tapping, clapping, shiatsu, and rolling techniques. Roller width can't be changed when using the Swedish or kneading techniques.

5.

Adjust roller strength

If you selected the kneading technique, the strength of the rollers can be adjusted by five levels. Strength adjustment is only available with the kneading technique.

6.

Choose full back, spot, or partial massage

Once a massage technique is selected, you can choose how much of your back gets massaged. By default, the massage rollers will conduct the chosen technique across your full back from the neck to the tailbone. '

But, for more precise massage, you can activate spot mode or partial mode (spot mode keeps the rollers in a single location and partial mode operates the rollers in a small zone). The location of both the spot and the partial zone can be moved around the back using arrow buttons on the remote. Full back massage can be resumed at any time.

7.

Turn on air pressure massage

With the massage rollers set, it's time add air massage to the mix. You can choose to activate air massage for the back, seat, or calves and feet individually, or you can have all zones operating simultaneously. There's even auto air mode to make the selection process even easier.

8.

Adjust air massage strength

Like the massage rollers, the intensity of the airbag massagers can be adjusted by five levels.

9.

Add seat vibration

The icing on the cake of your manual massage is seat vibration. Press the "Seat V" button to turn vibration on and off.

And your custom manual massage session is complete! When you're ready to end your massage, simply press the "On/Off" button and the chair will return to the upright position and power down.

How Does it Compare? Cozzia 16027 vs. Osaki OS 4000

As you can see, the Cozzia has a lot going for it. But if you're on the fence about whether or not it's the right chair for your needs, it's important to consider your other options. So to help you on your quest for the perfect massage chair, here is a side-by-side comparison with one of the Cozzia 16027's top competitors: the Osaki OS 4000T.

About the Osaki OS 4000T

The Osaki OS 4000T is one of the most popular massage chairs on the market and for good reason. It has all the features you'd expect to find on a mid-range massage chair, plus a few extras that set it apart from the crowd.

There are actually four different models in Osaki's OS 4000 series — the OS 4000, OS 4000T, OS 4000LS, and OS 4000CS. But for our purposes, the OS 4000T is most similar to the Cozzia 16027 in terms of both price and features.

Before we dive into the differences between the two chairs, let's see what they have in common.

Similarities Between Cozzia 16027 and Osaki OS 4000T

  • 30-inch S-Track
  • Body scan system
  • Two stage zero gravity
  • Air massage system
  • Leg and foot air massage
  • Automatic adjustable leg ottoman
  • Vibration therapy
  • Large control panel with mini wireless remote
  • Synthetic leather upholstery
  • 6 roller massage techniques

Now, onto everything they don't have in common...

  • Foot Massage Rollers

Both chairs have similar air massage systems for the legs and feet, but the OS 4000T has the slight advantage with the addition of dual-action foot massage rollers.

Under each foot, two rows of rollers spin and pulsate, stimulating the reflexology points on the soles of the feet. This action, in conjunction with the compression massage of the airbags, creates a very therapeutic foot massage experience.

  • Shoulder and Arm Air Massage

While the Cozzia 16027 does feature a comprehensive air massage system, it isn't as robust as that of the OS 4000T. In addition to the back, seat, calf, and foot air massage, the OS 4000T also feature air massage for the shoulders and arms.

  • Heat Therapy

Something missing on the Cozzia 16027 is heat therapy. The OS 4000T, on the other hand, has built-in heating pads in the backrest that provide soothing heat for the lower back muscles.

  • 6 vs. 8 Automatic Massage Programs

While both chairs feature the same number of massage techniques, the OS 4000T has two more automatic full body massage programs than the Cozzia 16027 — eight total. However, the OS 4000T doesn't have the same localized auto programs as the Cozzia 16027 which make it easy to target specific zones of the body. This one's a toss-up.

Cozzia 16027 vs. Osaki OS 4000T Final Verdict

With the addition of shoulder air massage, arm air massage, and foot rollers, the Osaki OS 4000T is slightly better than the Cozzia 16027 in terms of overall features. It's also important to note that on average, the Cozzia 16027 costs around $300 more than the OS 4000T.

So even though the Cozzia 16027 is a great massage chair in its own right, you can get a few extra nice-to-have features if you go with the Osaki OS 4000T, all while saving a few hundred dollars.

Cozzia 16027 Warranty

The final point to consider when assessing a massage chair is its warranty. You want to know that if something goes wrong with your new chair, it'll be covered. Luckily, Cozzia covers all of their massage chairs with one of the better warranties in the industry: two-year coverage for all parts and one-year in-home service. Now that's pretty good! For more information about the Cozzia 16027 warranty, please reference the Cozzia 16027 manual:

About Cozzia

Compared to other China-based brands like Titan or the many no-name brands out there, Cozzia massage chairs give buyers significant bang for the buck. This holds especially true for the Cozzia 16027...

Cozzia 16027 Review - Conclusion

Even though the Osaki OS 4000T has a few more features, we still feel the Cozzia 16027 is a great chair for the price.
