Best Rated Coffee Maker With Grinder In 2024

Black & Decker CM5000B

Cuisinart DGB-625BC

Krups KM7005

If you’re a coffee connoisseur, then you already know that buying pre-ground coffee is one of the fastest and surest ways to a mediocre cup of your favorite brew. The reason is simple. Once beans are ground, the nasty effects of oxidation begin taking root. Even in vacuum-sealed bags of pre-ground coffee, the grounds can lose up to a quarter of their flavor.

In bags that aren’t vacuum-sealed, the loss of flavor can be even more profound. If you want the best tasting cup of coffee you can possibly get, you need to get a coffee maker with a grinder built-in. That way, the beans are only ground just before you make your coffee, so there’s no chance for any oxidation to occur.  The question, however, is what’s the best-rated coffee machine with a grinder attached? Of course, “best” can be a somewhat subjective term, so we’ll outline our three top picks.

Top Pick: Black & Decker CM5000B

The Black & Decker brand is well known for reasonable quality and value pricing. As such, this is the most inexpensive entry on our list. Sure, there’s something to the idea that you get what you pay for, but if you’re on a budget and don’t want to sacrifice quality when it comes to your favorite drink, the Black & Decker is an excellent choice

You actually get quite a lot of coffee maker for that money. A 12-cup machine, easy to program, with a seamless, streamlined grind to brew process that will enable you to enjoy the freshest, most aromatic cup of coffee imaginable. As with most Black & Decker models, this one comes with their easy-clean brew basket, so cleaning and upkeep is a snap. Probably the most attractive feature to coffee aficionados (besides the grinder itself) is the brew strength selector, which will allow you to make an exquisite, bold cup of brew.

Fully 78% of purchasers rate this unit highly (4 or 5 stars) while only 14% rate it low (1 or 2 stars). Of the negative reviews, the only ones of note are the fact that the power cord is quite short, and the fact that the machine cuts off after an hour, so the coffee doesn’t stay hot much beyond that.

If you’re a power coffee drinker, this won’t really be an issue, but if you’re the sort that likes to brew a pot and sip throughout the day, then this may be more than a minor inconvenience to you.

Cuisinart DGB-625BC - Best Rated Coffee Maker With Grinder

While Black & Decker’s brand got its start in top quality tools, and only later migrated to other areas, Cuisinart has, from the beginning, built its brand in the food and beverage market. As such, anything bearing the name Cuisinart bears closer inspection.

At the time of the writing of this review, this unit was actually on sale for $95.01, a hefty fifty percent savings off MSRP.

Even with the sale price, this model absolutely deserves its place as one of the best rated coffee machines with a grinder, because for the added price, you’re getting a lot of excellent new features that solve for some of the shortcomings of the entry level Black & Decker model.

In the first place, this model allows you to set how long the coffee maker keeps the coffee hot, ranging from 0 to four hours after brewing is completed. It also has a “small batch” feature, allowing you to grind and brew 1-4 cups, rather than the 12 the machine holds at full capacity. Both are handy features, especially if you’re an all-day sipper, rather than a power drinker.

In addition to this, however, it’s got a brew pause feature, a grind-off option if you want to use pre-ground coffee for some reason, and a charcoal water filter and permanent gold tone filter, so you won’t have to buy paper filters periodically. All in all then, this is a solid, feature-rich machine.

The one complaint that we hear constantly about this machine is that the grinder is fairly loud, and for best results, should be cleaned after each use. This isn’t a deal breaker for some, but if you live in a house with small children, and like to get your coffee started before everyone wakes up in the morning, then the noise of the grinder could be an issue. If you can live with a bit of racket though, it’s an excellent choice.

The machine is well liked by consumers, with 71% of purchasers giving it high marks (4 or 5 stars) and 20% giving it low marks (1 or 2 stars). Most of the low marks come from the aforementioned noise of the grinder and the fact that the grinder requires cleaning after each use. Again though, if these details aren’t deal breakers for you, this is an excellent machine for the money, even at the full, list price.

Krups KM7005 Grind and Brew - Best Rated Coffee Machines With Grinder

Krups has a long history of making excellent coffee makers, and the KM7005 is no exception. With a list price of $216, it is the most expensive coffee maker to make our top picks list, though at the time of this writing, it could be found on sale for $179.99, a 17% discount from MSRP.

Here, you’ll find a convenient top-loading grinder with a conical steel burr to handle the actual grinding of the beans, a programmable feature allowing for five different levels of grinding and three programmable coffee strength settings.

The device also has an aroma function that allows for a more aggressive and intense oil extraction, allowing for a fuller, richer flavor, so as with the other models on our list, there’s a lot to like here.

The Krups isn’t without its shortcomings, however. First, its maximum capacity is only ten cups, not twelve as the other two list entrants have. Although you can prepare coffee in smaller batches of 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 cups, also programmable, with digital settings that automatically adjust the water to coffee ratio, depending on how much you’re actually wanting to brew at one time.

The warming feature isn’t programmable as it is in the Cuisinart model, and will automatically shut off after two hours. None of these, however, are deal breakers, making this a simply exquisite machine to consider.

What Is The Best Rated Coffee Maker With Grinder 2024?

So what’s the “best” coffee maker with a grinder? That depends on the exact feature set you’re looking for and how much money you’re willing to spend. One thing is certain though, if you’re a coffee connoisseur, then any of the three coffee makers listed above deserve to be on your short list!
