Features on the Apex iCozy Massage Chair

Combination S-Track and L-Track

In general, there are two types of massage chair tracks: S-Tracks and L-Tracks.

S-Tracks are “S” shaped tracks that typically extend from the top of the neck to the tailbone.

These tracks are designed to follow the unique curve of the spine, allowing the massage head rollers to keep consistent contact and pressure as they move across the back.

The benefit of an S-Track is the contoured shaped. However, since S-Tracks end at the tailbone, it can leave you wanting if you need treatment past the bottom of your back.

Enter L-Tracks. L-Tracks solve that problem by extending the massage head rollers into the seat of the chair. So, instead of your massage ending at the tailbone, with an L-Track, you can enjoy it from the neck all the way to the thighs.

The Apex iCozy uses a combination of S-Track and L-Track to provide a custom-feeling massage across your back, buttocks, and thighs — a feature typically only found on more expensive chairs. On the Apex iCozy massage chair there are three levels of air intensity to choose from, letting you customize your treatment and dial in the best setting.

Air Massage

The Apex iCozy features airbags on the sides of the chair that inflate and deflate to compress and squeeze the hips and thighs. Compression massage helps to alleviate tension in the muscles and increase circulation. The airbags also help hold the lower body in place for roller massage.

Lightweight Design

The Apex iCozy leisure chair weighs only 55 pounds. That’s about 100 pounds lighter than the typical massage chair. Its lightweight design makes the Apex iCozy massage chair a great option for small apartments, two-story homes, dorm rooms, and anywhere else stairs and frequent moving are common.

The lightweight, compact design of the iCozy leisure chair also lends itself to another benefit: no assembly required!

Bluetooth Connectivity with 3D Digital Sound, Built-In Speakers

Equipped with Bluetooth, you can connect to the built-in speakers on the Apex iCozy massage chair with your smartphone or tablet. Once connected, just select your favorite music and enjoy the 3D digital sound from the speakers located above the shoulders on each side of the chair.

Removable Seat Cushion

To customize your massage further, a removable seat cushion lets you increase or decrease the intensity of the roller massage. Simply remove the cushion to increase the massage intensity.

Easy-to-Use Built-In Remote

Positioned on the right-hand side of the chair is the easy-to-use built-in control panel. From the panel, you can select to activate massage techniques, location, turn on the air massage as well as adjust the position of the rollers.

Device Pocket

After selecting your music, place your iPhone in the device pocket located on the left-hand side of the chair. The pocket is large enough for a smartphone and doesn’t fit tablets or other large devices.

Massage Techniques

The Apex iCozy leisure chair features five massage techniques, including knocking (tapping), two types of kneading, kneading and tapping combination, and rolling. There are also two speed settings for tapping: high and low.

What You Won’t Find on the Apex Icozy Massage Chair

The Apex iCozy is a highly-affordable massage chair, so it goes without saying that it won’t have the same features found on higher-end models. Even so, there are some features you won’t find on the Apex iCozy that are important to mention, including:

No Reclining

There’s no reclining on the Apex iCozy massage chair. So, the only way to enjoy your massage is in the upright position.

No Arm or Leg Massagers

Not surprising given the chair’s price, but the Apex iCozy does not offer any type of arm or leg massage.

No Preset Massage Programs

On the Apex iCozy, there are no preset massage programs. Preset programs are the pre-installed massages that come with a chair. Each program has a theme or purpose, such as “relax” or “night time,” denoting the type of massage.

Since the Apex iCozy doesn’t offer presets, your massage must be manually selected using the control panel.

Apex iCozy vs. iJoy 2310

Now that we’ve taken a look at all of the features on the Apex iCozy, let’s see how it stacks up to the similarly priced iJoy 2310 massage chair.

Features on the iJoy 2310 massage chair

Before we get started, let’s learn a little more about the iJoy series. The iJoy series from Human Touch consists of affordable, lightweight massage chairs. Although affordable, one of the touchstones of the Human Touch brand is their emphasis on aesthetics. So, each chair in the iJoy series is ergonomically designed and features leather-like materials.

Now, let’s take a look at the features:

Preset Massage Programs

The iJoy 2310 massage chair features three preset programs, including:

  • Sore Muscle Relief. This revitalizing program targets and treats sore and achy muscles.
  • Stress Therapy. The program promotes deep relaxation by treating knots and tension in the neck and back.
  • Back Wellness. This program treats the lumbar area to ease soreness, fatigue, and stress.

Massage Techniques

There are four massage techniques offered on the iJoy 2310 massage chair, including:

  • Kneading. Massages your back on both sides of the spine using small, circular motions. The kneading technique lifts and stretches the muscles, relieving tension and soreness, and improving circulation.
  • Rolling. Gently rolls up and down the back along the spine. This technique warms up the muscles for deep massage, increases circulation and relieves tension.
  • Compression. Massages your back by applying pressure and gentle rocking to the spinal muscles and joints to help relax deep tissue and joints.
  • Percussion. Using rapid tapping along the spine, Percussion stimulates the spinal muscles and joints, relieving pressure and stress, and providing an invigorating treatment to the back.

In addition to the four above, you can combine the techniques.

Handheld Remote

Apex-iCozy-massage-chair-vs-human-touch-ijoy-remote-control-Consumer-Files

The iJoy 2310 features a handheld remote. On the remote, you can select from one of the three preset programs, choose a technique, move the position of the rollers, and adjust massage location using the Zone button.

Chair Reclining

On the side of the iJoy 2310 is a handle that allows you to adjust the recline of the chair. Simply pull the lever and push your weight against the back of the chair until you find a comfortable position.

Compact Design

The iJoy 2310 is very compact and only weighs 60 pounds, making it a great massage chair for small spaces.

Which Massage Chair is Best?

Although comparable in price (coming in under $1000), these two massage chairs are very different. If you remember, the Apex iCozy has an L-Track that extends from the neck to the thighs, while the iJoy 2310 ends at the tailbone.

The iJoy 2310 offers three preset programs, while the Apex iCozy doesn’t offer any. But the Apex iCozy features Bluetooth connectivity, built-in speakers, and air massage.

The verdict?

If you need massage treatment that reaches your buttocks and thighs, the Apex iCozy is the standout choice. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a very affordable chair that delivers a high-quality massage to your neck and back, the iJoy 2310 may be a better fit.

It’s important to note the iJoy 2310 sits low to the ground. Although this isn’t an issue for most users, if you are tall or struggle with getting in and out of chairs, the iJoy 2310 may not be the best choice.
